If i didnt live in California with fucked up smog laws i would have ASM's also. I know they will pass out the tail pipe, but these smog guys out here are *********** when it comes to visiual. I had a K&N cold air on my ex-wifes 89 Silverado and it had the C.A.R.B. sticker and they wouldnt pass the visiual. SMOG LAWS SUCK!!!!!!

Eldelbrock does make an ok shorty header. I have seen and heard after 6 months to a year of their welds craking tho.

Really? Most tests that I have seen, show a long runner will make more low end power. But that may depend on the size tubing.

I know the Edelbrock shorties have 1 5/8 diameter primary tubes. Some of the other shorties are only 1 1/2 inches in diameter. I would not recommend the 1 1/2 tube headers on any of these trucks.

how makes a long tube with 1 5/8 diameter or larger, Ive got the stall dont need to worry about low end. Looking for something thats going to really scavenge the exhaust and get it out. Alot of the problem with making HP is not getting the air in as much as it is getting it out. Who cares how much the heads flow if the exhaust isnt up to par. Any ideas are welcome.

I think his original questions were answered except which one has better low end torque. That would be the Thorleys. The tri-Y design give better low end and mid torque and the TOG/AMS give good mid and high end torque.

To get the best use of the torque, make sure you get a good tune and control the transimssion torque mangement
