Default What kind of headers????

I was just wanting to find out the truth about headers?

What are the Long tube headers designed for?

An what are the Shorty headers desighned for?

Wich ones are truly better for lowend torque?
Thanks guys

Long tubes are the way to go if you dont have to worry about smog. The TOG's are the way to go if you do have to worry about smog. And everyone has their opinions on the shortys. All a shorty header is, is a "tubular exaust manifold". Some are ok and others dont do ****. Just my $.02

my Edelbrock shorties helped a little, made it sound better too, but if I had it to do over again, I'd go with long tubes

Like i said, long tubes are the ****, if you dont have to worry about smog. I went with the coated TOG's and i love them. But if i didnt have to worry about the ****** smog bullshit i would be running some ASM long tubes. But the TOG's made a huge performance differance.

See Tbyrne on the TOG's. I myself have AS&M's I really like them Been on the truck since 01. They will pass any smog test you throw at them. Long tubes will have a tendency to make your engine run richer and loose a little low end. But they make up for it in the big end. Best dyno gain I have seen on shorties was 5 rwhp/

I DO!!!!! People seem to be so scared of them because they are cheaper than any other one out there, but I have absolutely no complaints about them. I think Jim(TnTrk53) was pretty impressed with them when he saw them. Kinda weird that people don't want to save a few bucks here and there, and still end up with a nice quality product.
