Gibson is very good but i have a friend with true duals on his truck. he has two 40 series non Delta flowmasters with 3" pipes and 4" tips at the end, and it sounds a little louder than my Borla system. Just my &.02

How do the magnaflow and the Dynomax Ultraflow systems compare in sound? They seem to be very similar in design and MagnaFlow has nice HP gains advertised. Which system has more resonance???

I have a billy boat exhaust on my rcstep side.
www.bbtriflo.com
It fits well with a Hotchkis drop and sounds good all the time.
Its 304 stainless and comes with dual 2.25 pipes out the back. If you don't like that they also make a signal setup.
I also really like the magnaflow system. It is the best priced stainless system out there plus it has a nice welded tip and fits well.

I had a borla catbak on mine and it didn't fit with the 4" drop. Something you might want to keep in mind.

I was disapointed in the Gibson 3'- my first exhaust- Not much louder than stock and I ordered the "stainless version" wich is crap- they use 409 stainless wich is magnetic and has less nickel in it- causing it to rust like aluminized piping. The clamp on tip was a nice touch too
If I could do it all over again
I would do what others here have, a magnaflow x-pipe, mag mufflers and run true duals off your stock y-pipe. Spinetech also makes a nice x-pipe but havn't heard there muffs in person.

I'm a Gibson Hater. I know some guys like them and they sound good, but I have heard horror stories on fitment and quality. The most complaints I have heard is that he welds inside on the baffles break and to warranty it, it's on your dime to get it back to them if they will even take it. Choosing an exhaust for your truck is as more a matter of personal preferance than anything. Everybody can tell you what they like and dislike, but unless you are their clone, you may not feel the same. Just ask Y2K Silverado, I think he is the reigning exhaust swap king right now.LOL The thing is nobody really has sat down on a dyno and compared each different setup on the same or similar equiped trucks. They will all give a flywheel gain from 5-15 hp, but don't look for that at the wheels realisticly. I have a true dual no cats, custom Magnaflow setup with an X pipe. It is very quiet and I like it that way. Nice and stelth not and attention grabber like some of the other systems. I had a Dynomax and it was loud and had a lot of resonance at towing RPMs so I did what I did. It also depends on how much $$$ you want to spend. Corsa, Borla and B&B will run in the $700+ range, while Magnaflow, Flowmaster, and Gibson will run in the $500 and less range. hen there is the Mom and Pop mufflershop that will do a single in 2 out Flowmaster, Magnaflow, Dynomax, Deltaflow, etc... setup for around $350. That's my 2 cents.
