Default What is important in a turbo kit to YOU?

For the purpose of discussion.

Rank what you feel is important:

-Easy of installation.
-Form fit and function.
-Power out put (this is a variable)
-Price
-Instructions

Your thoughts are needed here. If there is anything else you guys think is important post it up.

Having owned an '86 Grand National, I look to that setup for design reasons. Starting in the 1986 model year the Buick Engineers hit the nail on the head in most if not all aspects of their design. Speedy boost build up, endless low end power, great reliability. From a kit standpoint I would personally be interested in a complete nut-bolt kit with great installation instructions. High quality parts that will last for the life of the vehicle. Tuneability would be key as not everyone will be wanting to ring every ounce of power out of the combo but would much rather run modest boost numbers to have some more power on the street. One advantage I do see over the Grand National engines is the computer. If this could be used to its full potential I see a lot of advantages over a removable (read: limited) chip size as far as reliability and driveability. I'm sure there is more but this is what I would like to see.

I'd like to see a CARB exempt Front mount, as complete as the Magnuson Radix kit with a big enough intercooler to run 10+ psi w/ no extra detonation control (ie; Meth/Alky inj). My P1SC would be gone in a heartbeat for that.

As far as your list: In order of importance from top to bottom

Form/Fit Function
Price
Power Output
Instuctions
Ease of Installation

Add: Consideration of other components and ease of maintenance after install (ie; my procharger completely blocks access to the power steering pump, and changing the oil in it is a PIA)

Long Term Durability

Are you thinking about producing a kit?

I think all of the above play an important role into a kit. I think also completeness and expandability is somewhat important.

By expandability, I mean upgrading to a bigger turbo and being able to put in an intercooler if it doesn't come with one to start with, which I think should STRONGLY be considered as well.

Having just installed my STS kit I think reliability is the most important for a daily driver.
Form fit and function would be next, And Power out put would be after that.

I'd add my input... but I agree with everything that everyone posted already.... except for F8L's bogus remark.

and an Intercooler is a key element in a turbo system... just so much more variablility in the setup and they way you have everything working together making good power... without it, you are just going to be restricted.
