I bought a Volant intake (15153) for my hoe...shows up today, looks pretty sweet.

Counting parts and discover I'm missing one of the two foam rubber gaskets for where the tube goes into the box. OK no problem, I can cut one out of something pretty easy. Then I discover that the holes on the filter adapter don't even come CLOSE to the holes in the box. What the hell?? Anyone seen anything like this before?

I tried it in all 3 positions. what a piece of crap.

 

I love my Volant ram air it bolted up perfectly with good performance gains.

 

oh i forgot to mention...I swear this airbox smells like weed...

 

It must of been made on monday or friday. Send it back for a new one. I do home improvements for a living you wouldnt beleive the junk suppliers send out.

 

Guess that might have something to do with the bad measurements.

 

damn, that sucks... id be on the phone with who ever you got it from and showing them those pics.. no question they should give you a new one for your troubles.

 

Mine fit perfectly too. I dont kow what to say except, give them a call. Daniel is a great guy and will stand by Volant.

 

yeah i got it after i got home from work about 6:30 and figured tbyrne was closed. i don't have any doubt they'll make it right. pissed though cuz it took over a week to get here.

 

seriously though after thinking about volant more...i figured these things were at least made in a jig or something...not by some hippie with a holesaw and a measuring tape...weird.

 

Mine just came in today, so I will see how it fits this weekend...
