I keep seeing everyone here talking about efans. Excuse me for being dense, but what are these things, and exactly what do they do?

Well, I knew the e stood for electric. What I meant was, what is the purpose of putting one of these in your truck? Is this some type of fan that is run in addition to the stock fan, or is it a replacement? What is the benefit, just more cooling?

 

replacement. free's up a few poney's. looks a lot cleaner under the hood.

 

Electric fans are usually used as a replacement for the stock mechanical fan. Removing the mechanical fan will yield better gas mileage due to the lack of a constant load on the engine, and will increase power for the same reason. The electric fans run only when necessary and therefore consume less overall energy.

 

It doesnt run off a belt.....
