Default what to do to get temps down more

I finished doing my LS1 fans last night (while the other half unpacked the new house ). This afternoon driving to work with the AC on and about 90* I was between 200* and 210*. I have a 180 stat and have my temp settings at 190 on and 182 off. I also have a switch to turn the fans on manually but havent installed it yet as I have to decide where I want to mount it.
Can I lower my on and off temps in the PCM to have my fans come on earlier?
Should I get a 160 stat?
What temps do you guys usually stay at?

I hvae a 160 stat with stock clutch fan, and my truck rarely gets over 170 to 180. I live in south florida, so i always have air on and its always at least 85 degrees. Try a new thermostat, and try to mess with the on off temps

You might need to purge the air bubbles out of the cooling system. I've never had to do it, but one of my buddies did -- evidently there's a fancy $90 tool to hook up to your air compressor that will do it automatically.

I have the same problem. I have the Hypertech 180 Stat and in 60 degree weather, my truck still gets to about 200.

I have FAL 292's and they come on at 180 and 190 I believe, and still truck runs at 200. The only difference that I have noticed was the truck takes longer to get up to temperature.

I was also told that a 160 Stat was too cold, but after seeing my temps, Im thinking that a 160 would have been a bit better.

my 180 stat didnt make a difference in city driving at all, i changed to a 160 stat and still it gets up to normal temps but the fans keep it cool, highway driving is different though.

try a 160

Yes. Im going to lower the fan turn on temps and see if that helps. If it doesnt, I'll try a 160 stat. I hate draining and having to refill coolant . I may just take the easy way out and put the manual switch in tonight.

I have just recently installed a 160* t-stat and my fan temps are set to 195*. Even though I have a 'dummy" gauge it says I am running significantly cooler than I was with the stock t-stat and fan settings. It looks as if I never get above 190 in traffic and around town, but on the highway its alot cooler than that. Overall I am pleased with the purchase.

also make sure your fans are pulling air not pushing it. this could greatly reduce the efficacy of the fans.

refresher course.
pull vacuum on system.
add distilled water, not the **** water out of the hose.
add the red antifreeze 50/50 mix.
run it for 5 minutes or until operating temp.
pull second vacuum on system, top it off with distilled water.
now the air bubble from hell should be gone.
