I have had exhaust dumped at the rear axle, and I thought it rumbled in the cab worse than with the exhaust out the back. It resonated under the bed and I didn't like that sound at highway speeds.

so my next question is...
would it be dorky to just run the new muffler out of the stock tail pipe?

i would still like to eventually have the pipes come out infront of the rear tire, like on the pic i posted.

i like the idea of dumping it, but was worried about extra interrior resonance. that makes sence about putting it as far back as possible. thanks.

If I remember, his is just one pipe, and then later goes into a split tail. There's all kinds of attached tips that you can put on.

I had my tip out the back end, putting on a roll pan monday so the tips had to go for now, so I want to my muff shop and had them dump them right after the rear end, when I got back to my shop I want out and took a good look at the rear I like the no pipe look and the sound is about the same

I have fm 40's true duels

If you dump em you'll end up getting dusted every time you start it up. I ran mine to the factory outlet but cut the tailpipe short and put a chevelle style tip on it and pointed it down and back a little. Not real noticeable but its something.
