You have a few options.

1. Replace the muffler with something quieter. Lots of info here on this.

2. Add a resonator before the muffler. There are aftermarket resonators for our trucks. Flowmaster makes one. A resonator is nothing more than a muffler itself. Some people will add a glasspack or highflow muffler as a resonator.

3. Turn the volume **** on the radio up.

4. Wear ear plugs.

I had a 70 series Flowmonster and went with option 2 and installed their resonator. It worked wonders.

Put a Dynamax bullit style racing muffler in the system before the flowmaster,it will clean up the harsh metallic sounds and leave you with a nice low rumble.

#2 is a great option. Flowmaster makes a custom 6.0 liter cat-back setup for the Denali (like i have) and the Escalade. It's consists of a 50-series and a resonator. The sound is incredible. VERY deep and burbly without ANY droning. Go with the resonator, you'll love the sound.

He could put a resonator in front of the muffler. My truck came with a resonator on the tailpipe stock to quiet down the exhaust note (Yes, a Ram). When I put on a SI/DO Magnaflow muffler it was way to loud for me so I had the factory resonator installed in front of the muffler, it help A LOT! The resonator that comes on the 5.7L equipped Rams is straight through in design, looks just like a Magnaflow muffler inside. When I had it put on, it didn't hurt performance one bit, just helped with the sound. Here's two pics of it, it's the size of a small muffler.
