Default what coolant is in your Radix

I've read alot about coolant on the other sections of this board through searching, and it just goes back and forth - the Green stuff supposedly wears/eats away aluminum or other metal but Dexcool gets gummed up.

Sounds like the Dex sludge is caused by air in the system, either not full enough or not bled enough - and if the Green stuff eats away at metal then why would Ford use it in their Lightnings?

Magnacharger recommended half Dex/half water with a bottle of Water Wetter - which is what I'll use I guess unless someone can convince me otherwise

none.....I use Evans in my Camaro (Darton wants the Evans with their sleeves) but for the truck (and before I had a 388 in the Camaro) I used distilled water and water wetter.....NOTHING else. I can do this because I don't have to worry about it ever freezing out here in AZ

I use the green stuff, older lt1s and as you said fords use green also. The
green antifreeze does become corrosive after a long while but so
does dexcool if not serviced.I would just service the intercooler system once
a year.

Thats what im using. That water wetter will foam up like a SOB. Give it a little while and it will stop foaming. I also used distilled water for my 50/50 mix.

90%-10%mix of distilled water and Prestone Super Anti-Rust (respectively) is what I use in my intercooler setup. The Anti-rust stuff comes in like a 14oz. container and inhibits corrosion of the aluminum while allowing you to run a large amount of water (which is the best heat transfering molecule)

Now in the radiator I run 70-30% Distilled water and Dexcool coolant (respectively) because the water pump needs lubrication. I believe Dexcool lubes better than the Anti-Rust. In the intercooler, there is nothing that needs to be lubed though -just protected from corrosion.
