Default What comes first performance wise?

Hey everyone, i've been working on the apperance of my truck for the past few months and now i'm wanting to start on the performance aspects. Looking for suggestions on which would be the best basic upgrades for right now? I've been thinking about adding headers or an intake along with an exhaust but do i need to do anything else first to make these specific upgrades worthwhile?

If you were starting on my truck (stock 5.3 with an auto) what would you do and in which order? It is a daily driver and i just want some more when i press down the pedal

Thanks for everyones time!

Just depends what you want. If I could do it all over again, I would have baught ls1 edit first.

edit is a good decision, intake, headers, exhaust all help. edit you will need for the rest of your truck build up.

Get another one and put a new tranny on that one ... you'll need it in short order. It's worth it though ....

I'd look for a used HPPIII off Ebay or the LS1TECH classifieds. You can usually find them for about $150 to $200. Later on, if you plan to go hog wild, you can sell it for most of your money back (if not all) and get LS1edit. I currently only have the Hypertech, and I am happy with it. It may not even be close to edit, but for the price and what you can do with it I think it has been my best mod yet.
