Default What cam do you recomend?

ive read numerous threads on which cam to look for and how they work and such. I am looking for a cam for my 5.3 that has a choppy idle and low end torque. im thinking about getting crane cam LS6 216/224 .551/.551 would this be a nice cam to get? or what would you recomend

depending on the LSA that is close to the vinci trucker cam which works good for a supercharger

BTW we need more info on what kind of truck, what engine/trans, what do you want out if it, other mods?

224/224 if you have a stall converter.

its a Avalanche Z66 with 5.3L. Airaid intake. Flowmaster exhaust. the tranny is a 4L60e with a transgo shift kit with corvette servo's for all gear changes. at the same time i get the cam im getting it tuned. i want more low end torque and overall, better acceleration.

decent cam in a heavy truck which is gonna suk down low if you ask me.. its going to need a 2600 stall for best results. I had the 210/218 114 in my ECSB 4x4 and it lost low end but it did great over 3k rpms though(but I wasnt WOT 24/7 either so it didnt help my truck). Couldnt stand it so I had to get a stall.

I would not even think of anything over 220/220 without a 3k stall also

I now have a 220/220 114 and love it, but also have that yank 3000 stall. The trucks flys when she gets around 3k without that stall, most 4banger bettles would eat me off the line

oh and I know these are small cams, but for low end gains you should look at cams like
a 206/212 if you dont plan on doing a stall

get 112LSA and that will give you some chop at idle

the 216/224 .551 115LSA worked awesome for me...it has the same specs as the vinci trucker cam that i had in my last truck. you'll definitely lose the lowend torque without a stall though...not much but noticible. search my name. i have several videos and dynographs after the swap.
