I drove a Z28 LS1 Camaro for a while with that cam in it. It had a real rough idle while sitting in traffic, although it would run like a raped ape when you mashed the gas and it sounded soooooooooooooooo good. The car would rock side to side when sitting at a stop light. I was told that it gives about 40-50 hp over stock but I'm not real sure. It depends on how rough you like your cam. For most daily drivers IMO it would be too rough. I'm not exactly sure how it would run in a 5.3L though, may be a good adventure

Find a new cam. This cam is only halfway good for M6 F-bodies. 95% of all people who I have talked too, hates this cam. You might try to post this in the Internal Engine section before you buy this cam, to get their opinions.
If you want a "bigger" camshaft you might try the Comp 216/220lsa114 or the TR220/220lsa112. I think you would be happier with one of these. Of course this is just my opinion, I could be wrong.

you'd be better off w/ something a little milder in duration for a truck.
