Default ported tb question

Is there anyone that can explain how to port/polish a stock tb? Are there any significant gains from it? Any down falls? I have already done the other free stuff, just not that yet. Thanks for any info.

Hey slow....gm high tech mag just did a good story on that last month on a LS1 and other free mods if you can get your hands on it...they did it witha dremil tool
and a few diff bits...looked like more than i wanted to fool with...taking mine to MTI said they would take it of port it an put it back for $150 seem cheap to me..if you port it to much you are looking at alot more to replace..
