What are 5.3l reg. cabs running with just a few mods??

I want to get an idea of where mine should be before I start sinking money in it to make sure its not a factory turd. What were some of your regular cab with 5.3s running with just minor mods like an intake and prgrammer, free mods etc?? I see tons of extended cab times but no regular cab. Hey bring it over and we will get it running right... We will put some NOS on it and Wha La, we will get that thing to running...lol No i would like to do a truck from a differnt approach like all traction first, and build a nice little power packed motor...

WE need to do something to get it to leave. Problem is I am a poor *****, gotta do stuff a part at a time. I am gonna skip the dope on this one. Its almost out of warranty and if it popped, I would be phucked. I want some mid 14s on motor. Thats about a second away. Damn that ain't gonna be cheap. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

The night I raced my truck at HRP, there was a guy with a brand new 5.3L regular cab and he was running 14.95-15.18 all night. My times from that night are in my signature, it was showroom stock down to the air in the tires.

Maybe... but with me going first we can see what works and what doesn't. Maybe we can give you the low down...I've got some good cheap ideas to try which i will try real quick...I would like to see thirteens on motor for you...

I am currently running consistant 14.7x@high 92s in the heat. My best time is in my sig but it was really cold that day (mid 40s) and that was before my headers, new exhaust, drop and tires but with the other mods listed in the sig.

Damn, my truck is a turd. The only thing I can think of that should be hurting it is that the tires are a little over 30" tall. This with a 3.42 peg leg sucks ***. I was going through in 2nd gear at 89.5 mph. oxidizer, I am going to check your site.

BTW Hyde, its gonna take big buckos to hit 13s with this no leaving turd. Definetly gonna need 3.73 with a posi, need a converter and the shift kit, thats just to access the power it already has somewhere below 70 mph. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" /> Problem is I am a poor MF'er. I can't believe that 02 went 14.90s stock. They must make much more power(02s) then the 2ks. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
