Well......looks as though I'm the cause of all the ruckus here in this thread.
Though I only asked a single simple question, THAT'S STILL UNANSWERED!!!
Look, does Westers or Nelson have any dyno numbers to give out for their tunes??
For $500.00 they should. I want dyno numbers from both of them for my 6.0L VHO.
If they cannot at least give out dyno numbers for a stock (NO OTHER MODS) VHO, then I will just not buy. A Hypertech unit will be fine for me if either of them cannot produce the HP & TQ gains over stock.
I want the numbers to be competitive, so a Nelson 93 oct tune to a Westers 93 oct tune needs to used.
I would even like a 87 to 87oct tune comparison while their at it.
I really don't find this to be a difficult procedure to be performed for us (their customers and their profits).
Oh yeah, LOL how do these guys compare to the above tuners: FastChip tune, HP tune, and the MTI tune???
Need all the hard #'s before I spend $500 + for a tune.

Jim, If you can trust Hyper tech's claims, why would you not believe another tuner without proof?
If you actually took the time to search this board there is a wealth of knowledge to be found. These include dyno numbers, actual real world time improvements (1/4, 1/8th, etc), MPG increases, customer service issues, and how badly hypertech sucks.

Yeah Hypertech has dyno #'s on their website and ads but theya re a damn lie. There is plenty of dyno 3's from Nelson tunes and some dyno #'s from Westers tune here. Use the search button and youll see. For Westers dyno #'s youll get more at mychevytruck.com. I can only speak for Westers and Nelsons and Fastchip. When I went with the LS1 I went with a Fastchip tune for personal and other reasons. Ive seen people talk **** about Fastchip tunes and it is the best tune I have had even though its on a new motor. Honestly man you will be happy with any custom tune. They are all gonna mke your truck feel a whole lot better. SOme may get a few more hp one time and the other another time.Just dont get a handheld tuner.

I really doubt I will get that from them though.

Yeah, this thread went a little astray....
One thing I think we all agree on is that a custom tune is worth it's price, no question. And handhelds are paperweights....
Dude, you won't get any of them to do that- too many variables. Lots of info here. Just look.
I got 3mpg and 1.2 seconds with my Wester's.
