I have a 99 silverado 5.3 . I have a hypertech programmer and a k &n filter system. I would like get more power. I am just getting in to it. Open for suggestions on upgrades to make to my truck so new trucks will not blow me away.

First question. How much money do you want to spend on the truck? For a big chunk of money you can get a big amount of power with forced induction.(turbo kit or superchargers) If you aren't looking to spend that much right off, then there are several mods that will help out a N/A setup.(torque converter, headers, cam)

i would do exhaust next if i were you. then i would sale the hypertech and talk to a custom programmer like westers, pcm for less or nelson performance. they'll get it runnin.

Since you have a 99, the first thing that I'd do would be to ditch the 99 PCM and get a tuned 02 PCM, there's a night and day difference. All of the above mentioned tuners have good reps. Then I'd look at exhaust, cam, etc.

Do a search on 99-02 PCM swap and you'll find a ton of info about the woes of the 99-00 PCM's. Welcome aboard!

(BTW, you're gonna need a second job to support your habbit once you get into this...when I first found this site, I only had bolt-ons! )

yeah its expensive. im only headers away from being out of bolt ons hopefully i will have the dicipline to hold back on anything else until i can pay it off...probably not though

do you just want to hang with the newer trucks or do you want to blow them away??
