Yes, playing with the exhaust again! Never really liked the single pipe look and after hearing that the SS muffler I was using reduces to one 2" pipe inside, I decided it was time for a change. I like the Crown Vic cop car turn down look so that's what I went with. I say is not quite true duals because it does have a 16" length of single 3" pipe between the factory Y after the cats and before the Magnaflow Y that was installed when the SS muffler was installed. I think of it as a long X pipe though, ok, real long X pipe. I went with Dynomax Super Turbos, 2.25" pipe and turn down tips like I said. The sound is GREAT! NO resonation, a deep low rumble from idle to about 2K rpm's and almost NO sound on the freeway. The BIG thing is that it doesn't resonate! It really woke the truck up too! It didn't hurt low end at all but it now pulls like a big dog on the high end! Here's a few pics of the Magnaflow Y pipe, the two mufflers and a close up of a turndown.

Cool. I had true dual Super Turbos (2.5") on my '99 5.3 and your description is pretty much exactly the same as mine. I loved that exhaust system.
You can expect the sound to get a little bit deeper after a few thousand miles, don't worry it will still be easy on the ears.
I like the turndown look.

How did it feel power wise, have you had another exhaust on there before?

LOL! Yep, I've had my share. I'm the brunt of alot of jokes because I've changed my exhaust so much. This exhaust is kick ***! I didn't disconnect the battery to reset the computer when I had it done so it's taken about a week for the ECM to adjust. The truck really pulls hard now, much more top end with no loss of low end.

I had a SuperTurbo on my 99 Z71. I loved that sound. Deep and throatier than the Blowmaster than I have that came on my 01. I too love hidden tips my F150s are tipped down right beside the receiver hitch and my Zs are up by the spare tire. Clean.

Until the next system right?

Jim's spent enough cash on exhaust and repeat mods that he could've had a Corvette by now. Just messing with you Jim.

Do a search, you'll see about 5 years worth of different mufflers.

Are you sure you have no drone? Even at 1500-2000 in overdrive at 50 mph under light/mid throttle? If so, I'm impressed.

Actually, he bought a new F150 and his partner a used Z71. It's oK, yuck it up! For as much rumble as it has in the low rpm's, it doesn't drone or resonate. Even at the dreaded 1600-1900 rpm range, it rumbles but doesn't resonate and buzz my sensative ears. I'm very happy with it, no complaints.
