Dude being on this board, you will realize that alot of the times you see will be alot faster than what you see.. And it really depends on where you live...

Black Ice said he ran a 14 with Tune, CAI, Plugs and Wires...

I have cam, headers, tune, gears, cai, blah.blah..blah and still cannot hit 14's

Oh and Black Iced... You might want to check your jets... If your firing a 100 shot and only getting 14.56 from your 14.xx without the nitrous... Something Its wrong

Your MPH is way low for a cam'd truck.

You might wanna try holding the truck in 2nd gear through the 1/4mile and not let it shift into 3rd. If you have relatively tall tires and can bump your rev limiter to 6700rpm or so you might go faster. My truck would lose ET and MPH if I let it go into 3rd so I just adjusted my shift points really high and never let it hit 3rd gear.

This got me 14.3s@96-97mph on 2.0 60's with basic bolt-ons and a big cam with a 4900lb raceweight.

Grears are not going to help you if you already have traction problems. IMO don't expect an Ext.Cab truck to hit 14s with just exhaust and intake mods. It is NOT common at all. I'd have to see more than 1 timeslip to believe that. Kinda like buddy who ran a 1.3 60' in his T/A the other day. Talk about a computer glitch. LOL

I have 3.42 gears as well, but run a 28" tire when at the track. Even withouth the converter and nitrous, with just a Magnaflow catback, AEM intake, and HPPIII I went consistant 15.0's with a best of 14.98. Now with the converter it runs consistant 14.6's with a best of 14.57. The last time out I made 5 passes on motor only with a worst of 14.8x....at a sea level track. Reg. cab trucks with the same mods as me are in the 14.4 zone or lower. I think Hardtop just went a 14.40 last weekend. Something doesn't sound right for the mods that he has listed. I agree with trying it with the mass air flow meter....what is to gain on a 15 second truck by running speed density. Back in the late 80s, all of the Mustang guys (1989 was the first year for the MAF) were doing MAF installs, why do people want to remove it now??...especially on a 14 or 15 second truck. I'm confused, but agree that I would also try the MAF with a proper tune.

hey bro, the 14.56 time was the day after the gear swap and i had almost no pressure in the bottle. when i hit the button i got about 1-2 sec. worth of nitrous before it was empty (this is without the nitrous tune). so its not like i got a full run with the gas anyway. i am heading to the track sunday and i will have a full bottle and i have the nitrous tune installed. truck is much, much stronger than before. so i would appreciate it if i was attacked, however i may be taking it wrong. if i am please disregard the attacking thing. i dont think that is they way you meant it. sorry it hasnt been the best couple of weeks for me and i am a little on edge.
