Default Weird rod and piston combo

I just hurt my motor, 2005 5.3/lm7 706 heads, and found a chunk of the piston missing. I pull it out and it's a Gen 4 rod with floating piston, but it's a dished piston.

I'm looking for oem dished pistons, but only can find press in type. I see 5.3 floating pistons, but only flat tops. Anyone with a 5.3 floating dished piston, with or without connecting rod, let me know. I'll take it off your hands

This needs to be moved to the “Wanting To Buy” section.

It is not a wired combo. Starting with production for 2005 vehicles They started using this set up. It's like an 05-07 thing. all the LS based engines started getting Floating pin rods and piston combo's for that production year.

It's an 04 to 07 thing but only the engines assembled in the 2004 calendar year. Basically the reason I never buy an 04 model engine for try and help anyone that owns an 04 either lol..

Sounds like it's time for a poke and a stroke
