I wonder if anyone else has a prob like this....
When I am goin down the road about 32-50mph and I go from no throttle to about 1/4 throttle or so, something in the engine is making a noise kinda like a diesel at idle. It has been progressivly getting worse, so i didnt know if anyone has heard of this. I am thinkin it can be the injectors or maybe something caused by my piston slap that keeps goin even when the engine is warm . Oh well... gimme some ideas, i only have 11k miles on it, so it shouldnt be the injectors, but who knows...
thanx

I've heard it too on my '00.
At first I thought it might be slight pinging but I always run 93 octane gas and 1/4 throttle at that speed is not very much load. I'll try and listen for it again today since I have basically stopped trying to hear it.

Thanks for checkin up on it... I am giving the Chevy dealership a lil surprise visit in a few min to see what kinds of crap they have to tell me on piston slap, as well as the 35-50 mph noise. I bet the noise also occurs lower and higher, but my flowmasters w/ 3 1/2 tips drown out most everything haha. good luck

It is a pretty normal noise, caused by the fuel system if it is the same one I have heard. You should only hear it under accelaration only. Piston slap should be heard at all times. Let us know what the dealer says.

I went to the dealer today... they were really **** to me the whole time cuz I brought up my very bad piston slap when i got there. The guy said it was probably normal (noise), and to get an appointment for a road test with the head mechanic there. I will have to wait til my schedule clears up... they are only open M-F.
Read my post bout what they told me on the piston slap.
