I don't think the deck heights are different between the truck and car motors.

If they were different than a LS1/6 manifold wouldn't fit on an iron block, would it? They're are plenty of people running iron block motors in their f-bodys with these intakes.

Also, if the deck heights were different the f-body accessory bracket holes wouldn't line up right on the heads.

Does that make sense?

I'm thinking of putting a LS6 manifold in my truck project to help the 422 breath a little better in the upper rpm range. The truck will not see below 5000 rpm at WOT with the converter so it should help.

It shows that the truck intake is about the same as the LS6 intake flow wise until around .500-.550 lift and then the LS6 starts to pull away. The truck intake absolutely KILLS the LS1 intake at low lift and still flows better at higher lifts.

DoverJ1W nailed it. Simply, you can't bore the composite intake, but you can on the aluminum intake. People get this for a better flow when they have some stage 3 or racing head work done and are restricted by the stock manifold. Flowing more isn't necessarily the best thing either though. The air intake looses velocity = loss in power. Um...you are blown though Maxmumboom, so I don't think you would loose much air velocity with porting work on heads and intake like the aluminum one. Well this seemed like a while to not end up helping much...oh well I'll post it anyway

I don't remeber where I saw it, but an explaination of the purpose of the intake was for the ability to port and match and to be able to drill holes for jets in the intake for extra fuel, nitros, etc. It seems that the piece I saw said it flowed a little better, but was not worth buying without real needs because of it using gaskets that would need to be matched to the ports and its price vs. gains.

BTW, the composite intakes can be ported/port matched.

I know quite a few of the engine building sponsors on this board have already done this. Its much harder to port the runners of the composite intake due to the fact that they are not very accessible but, the ports can be matched relatively easy.

They can also have direct port nitrous setups tapped into them.

The LS6 intake will bolt onto a 5.3 or a 6.0 intake.

The Holley/Weiand is not a simple bolt'on deal and because of that very folks have dyno #'s or track times.

I know of a heads/cam A4 T/A that is currently running the Holley intake. After SEVEN trial-and-error test fits, they finally got the intake to seal. The bolts they use on the bottom of the intake have too big of a head and won't allow for a proper seal. You have to change them out. He picked up 7 RWHP at peak with the ported and polished Holley (ported by GTP) over the LS6 intake. This is on a 400+ RWHP setup. It only gained 7 RWHP with a COOL intake and hood up. How much of that gain do you think he sees when he has the hood closed and it's heatsoaked? I wouldn't consider the Holley intake unless I was pushing 475+ RWHP.
