I did the usual bolt ons first (CAI, shorties, and cat back), and all I seemed to get from them was more noise...then a cam and tuning knocked almost a second off of my ET. Converter and built trans is coming next...then it'll be time for more cubes

I would have to say headers and throw a balance tube on those true duals! Then gear and tune.

I like the efans just cuz I can't stand hearing the clutch fan during the summer and stuff and my truck sounded like a 747 taking off... My suggestions would be efans, long tubes, drop in a air filter, and get a custom tune. The your next step and the one that will make the biggest seat of the pants gain would be a converter atleast a 3k and its a totally different truck. Then throw in a cam some springs and pushrods. (This is where I'm at now) next will either be f/i or more cubes

Getting there, hoping to be back on the road in time for summer, probably right about when you get out of school for summer break

tune, stall. hp / buck = forced induction. But you can't build that in cheap stages (well you can but you get my point). A tune really wakes up a 5.3. My good friend who was a dealer tech with me had an '06 sb/rc. He changed the 3.23s to 3.73 and I tuned it for him. It was brutal. Chirped 3rd on 87 octane. Maybe a freak? It's the red one from the video in my sig...
