Default Votec manifold

Has anyone tried to modifiy the stock TBI manifold (90-95) to fit the vortec heads. I read that it can be done, but don't know the specifics.
If not, is there another choice other than the GM ($309.00) manifold?

I hade a friend that drilled and taped a set of vortec heads so a old style small block manifold would fit on them. It was kind of a pain. This was back when they first started using them on circle track cars and no one was making carb manifolds for them yet. They mocked them up on a old block and set the intake on it and marked the holes and then made a jig to hold the head in the drill press and then drilled and taped them. It is also kind of difficult to get the runners to seal, because the vortec runners are taller then the older style heads and intake manifolds.

Edelbrock makes a Performer manifold that bolts to Vortec heads for $165 but it has a carb flange on it. You would need to make, or buy a adapter to put the TBI on it.

Thanks KB96
I think that would be too much of a pain, and it definitly isn't worth sacrificing dependability.
I think that the adapter was my next question. Edelbrock makes some good manifolds like the performer for a good price. I wonder if anyone makes one of the adapters that would work and NOT take away from the performance

There you go, Don't think it would hurt performance any.
