Default Vortech 454 head and cam?

So the turck i posted about that has 12k miles is still at the bank.... I did some research and forund the vortech 454's make 290hp and 410lbtq.

I also found that porcharger makes a blower that will ad 60 % increase in power at 5 psi. They also make a 8 psi kit that ad 75%+ depending on how you tune the truck, the 8 psi kit will need major computer work and bigger injectors. While that is a lot of extra power it comes at a price. $5500.00.

Being a fan of both diesel and big blocks i read everthing i can find on the 496 ci motor ( what i want just cant find one). From reading on here and google search it seem raylar is the only company that is making go fast parts for the big block. After looking on there webpage though i cant find anything that has something to do with the 7.4ltr 454 trucks. I find it hard to believe that a company like Rylar who makes all the parts for Boats didnt mess with the GM motors when there 454's....

So i guess in a short post now Does anyone make heads and cam package for the 454 turcks.. this would be 96-00 2500-3500 GM stuff. IF so how much do they cost and how much hp can you pick up.

Thanks
Shawn

I think Edelbrock and Lingenfelter both have stuff for the 96-up 7.4L engines.

Almost all head company's make heads for a 454. It's not a oddball like the 8.1l is.

GM Performance Parts rectangular port aluminum heads are available. The lower section of the big block ramjet manifold is just like your L29 lower section, except for rectangular ports instead of oval. I believe they do interchange.

Make sure the cam you get has a stepped nose for the thrust plate. They call these "factory roller" camshafts.

Thanks guys

Im going to see what i can find. Id like to do something like tierod had, head cam, headers exhaust, then maybe later on a blower. But for pulling a car i would think the head and cam would be plenty..
