Default Vortec Max with no mufflers

I have searched and haven't found anything like this yet, so I will ask.... My brother has a RCSB with a 4.8 in it. He ran no mufflers, stock manifolds, and stock cats out to the back of the truck. It sounds awesome. I was wanting to maybe do the same thing. I have a Excab Max. I was wondering if my truck will lose too much power, be too obnoxious, or what should I run??? I am on a budget and don't want to drop a ton of money, but I don't want to lose my low end torque. I will keep it quiet before I take the chance of losing a ton of power. Thanks

Just get some Blowmasters and run two slash cut chrome tips out the back beside the trailer hitch. At least then you can be a hillbilly with money.

Well, I guess that will be my last question. Glad to see that everyone is quick to jump to conclusions on this board. I think that a simple answer would have been adequate, but that's alright. I will just take my questions where I can actually get an answer instead of a bunch of smart comments.

Seems like all of us smartasses like to comment on exhaust threads. Don't worry about all the jokers on here, we seem to all be comedians.

With the max you probably won't lose much if any going with a very free flowing exhaust. Some people like to run open cutouts. For what that's worth.

It all depends on the sound you want and what inspection/emmissions stuff you have to bow down to.

Cheap way to go is just cut your muffler off.

Another not too expensive way is to pick a muffler type you like and just put the can on. A full cat back isn't worth the price in my mind. I don't know if the stock vortec max has dual or single pipes to the muffler but there are options i.e. 2 in single out. Search around for some sound clips to find what you like.

I like my magnaflow, but its kinda quiet.

Hehe, personally I liked the use of the word hillbilly.

Hillbilly Hillbilly Hillbilly Hillbilly

I think we need a hillbilly smilie. He could hold a sign that says "hold my beer".

No, it doesn't make it better, it just makes you a liar and a smartass. Muti-tasking...
