Default Vortec Max 2006

Hey, I just bought a Vortec Max and was wanting to put exhaust and intake on it. Should I wait until I break it in a little bit first and has anyone just ran the single exhaust, but removed the muffler and ran no muffler? Will that affect my backpressure and hurt the performance of my truck? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

free flowing exhaust never hurts, neither does an intake.

Just go with a cat back setup that mounts the dual system just after the 4 o2 sensors that are in the down pipe just after your exhaust manifolds near the cats.....include an Xpipe just after the cats and then go dual with or without mufflers depending on how loud ya can handle.... ....i run this setup with no mufflers....even without doing LT headers i noticed a substantial gain!...oh and just go with duals because youll probrally just want duals later on so why waste time and money on a single exhaust kit....
