Im just about to pull the trigger on a 217/223 Voodoo cam.But I'd like some 2nd opinions before doing so.Is this a good cam or is there a comparable comp cam to this one?This truck is a dd and will hardly see 4 grand rpms.Im looking for a good lope and good mid range power.(2004,5.3L with Nelson tune,CAI,exhaust,2wd)

2nd question....a good/cheap place to get this?!

 

i cant say comp because i have only ran voodoo.. i love it look at my sig and my times on the 1/8 and that was with the 212/218 tune on a 5000lbs truck... i love that 217/223 but it really needs that 3200 verter... never ran it withought but im sure it needs it.... altho u will need all the rest of the upgrades to make it work good... btw im selling mine.. u went bigger all around

 

Im just throwing this out there...but did you get your cam done in Santa Maria?I was talking to someone today who said they knew someone that was selling their 217 here in Cali that got on this forum.Coincidental maybe?

Anyways you can message me and Ill take it off you possibly.Im looking to probably bump up my compression.Still researching if itll be worth it yet with that combo.Yes Ill prolly get that 3200 also.Im trying to baby step myself with this truck lol.Last one I dumped a Magnacharger and exhaust and lift and tires all at once....my wallet stayed pissed for a loooong time at me.

Same guy whos did yours,is going do my cam as soon as I get everything.I dont throw out peoples info on here.But Im sure you know who Im speaking of.Can your cuz send me a sound clip of that cam in his truck?So I know what to expect.

I weld in Santa Maria.Live in Pismo Beach.Its hard to find guys to work on ls engines around here.So I came across E&J.

 

I had the cam under that one and loved it. You will love the Lanati!!

 

there my cuzns and all but will not trust anybody else but e&J , when ever i break i rather tow my **** to the 805 , n-e ways , that 217 is a perty good cam i actually bought for me but them decided to due a sixoh and went bigger now iam gonna go bigger again just like 05gmcsierra , but bigger then that ,

 

Yeah its deffinitely a vicous cycle.But Im keeping this truck low keyed for the most part.Ill have it for awhile and then get myself a Cadillac cts-v.Now thats the one Im going to make nasty!
