Default Volant with Whipple??

Would a volant intake be better with my Whipple than the K&N fipk i'm using. I know it would bring in cooler air than the K&N, but how about actual air flow/volume??

Duhh, guess I should have read the whole post....

It will help a little....I have found that the K&N is a bit restrictive with boosted applications.

i suppose you could always customize the volant box, to accomodate your wanted air flow/volume...

True, what i like about the volant is the better heat insulation from the engine. That has to be better than the shield that comes with the fipk.

just cut out the bottom of the volant.. then you will have full advantage of the cold air plus the shielding from the heat.

Volant is coming out or is out with a thing plugs up under the box ans scoops air up from the inner airdam opening. Something like that

I believe it is a toss up because the K&N fipk probably lets in more air as apposed to the volant letting in better quality air. If you choose to get the volant you will have to modify it to make it fit the whipple set-up and if you get the ram-air scoop with the volant it will let in road debri. To fix the road debri problem I had to make a pre-filter filter by adding some fine window screen to the ram-air scoop line. Just another thought, you can make the stock air box flow more by adding a k&n drop in & opening up the fender opening on the box & fender then adding a custom ram-air to the bottom.
