well i finally got around to putting on the volant cold air intake with the "ram" air scoup... I must say its a nice kit but it didnt fit very well. probably my suburban instead of the products. the Masssir / cuppler / intake pipe still is not all the way on... I gave up after about houre. Im also not sure if maybe the 8.1L has just a fraction larger plastic or something...

Anyway these thing are freaking loud. when you get on the go peddel.... only way i can describe it is it sounds like 1050 4 barrel hooked up to a huge PA system!!!

The power increas is really there by the seat of the pant, most noticable in the 1300-2600 rpm range but this motor doesent revve high. I have had it out on the freeway yet... I hope to go to the track next thursday and see if helped any... it not it still sound cool. lol....

Now on to the Gibson cat back and long tube headers...... suggestion on the headers?

Who sales stainless works. I called ever friend i know that ownes performance shops. No one has a connection to stainless works. Then when you call no one picks up the phone.

Did you pick up any power with reworking the factory heads? I saw a set on E bay last week for $200.00.... thought about picking them up then seeing if they could be cut and pollished... Im still waiting on the wife to give about $10K.... do that head and cam from ryler and a blower, or a turbo...

 

even with a 4.8,CAIs are loud...mine sounds like a 4bbl with no air cleaner,too

 

yeah i just installed mine yesterday as well, it is very loud when on the gas. I have long tubes as well so that might be making it a little louder. mine fit great though no problems with install

 

Whats wrong with the Intake being loud?????

 

i have no muffler and heard a big difference also felt it from about 45-50mph up to 80-90mph when punching it
