I added these yesterday and did dyno tests. Netted an entire 7hp. For the whole story: click here

One is a square box type box (four screw lid), and the newer one has a pentagonal shape (5 screw type lid).
I have the ram air tube with my Volant, but I think I may have lost bottom end power with the Volant kit. It may have picked up in the upper rpm range, netting a better max hp gain. I'd rather have a higher overall average gain in HP, not just a better peak HP gain.
I really would never know if the ram air tube helps on a dyno, but a few 1/4mi runs with and without might tell me the answers.

The older version had a scavanging type air tube as well. Like what you find on the O.E. air tubes.
The newer tubes are a straight direct tube from the MAF to the TB.

In my opinion, the scavanging section on the side of the air tube helps a great deal with low end tq & hp, though it has a little bit of a negative effect in the mid and upper rpm ranges.

the dyno is just a tool. put it on the track and see what it does. maybe thats where it will shine. i could definately feel a bit of difference in my truck with the pulley.
