For peak performance you would need to.You can have your tuner pull timing to run the low grades with that compression.I run 93 all the time, sometime,s my wife puts **** in and it runs like crap.

You'd need to calculate the DCR to determine the octane needed. You should run 93, but it should run on 91 no problem. Depending on the tune you could also run 87

so, basically you are wanting to put in a 2001 Z06 cam...I just put mine in, and might have numbers this weekend...unsure though.

Any updates to this? stock 6.0 in my '01 is getting tired.
Thinking stroker crank/rods, max bore and LS3 heads/intake.

Looking for some more recent info. I have a irregulare "jump" in my oil pressure needle now. Likely a bad lifter or oil pump since i changed the sensor and it didnt change things.
I'm thinking a 408ci motor and a nice cam like what has been talked about here -
VHP 80
DUR @ .004" 272*/280*
DUR @ .050" 210*/218*
LIFT .551/.551
OVERLAP 46*
LSA 116*

Still do not want to do headers but I'm thinking LS3 heads and matching intake may be worth the cost/effort.

Ideas?

I have that Vinci cam. It won't be the magic massive torque adder that you're looking for but it should help some with towing, especially with a good custom tune. Now if you want a real torque addition, go with a roots blower and a similar cam. I took my dad for a ride in mine with my 5.3 and now he's putting a Magnusen in his 6.0. Sure, it's expensive... but boy is it worth it, especially for towing.
