It has one it's under Duramax. You just need to spend $7000 extra to get in.

You need gears if you want better towing.

The bottom end tq and gas mileage was way better with the small cam. It towed like mad even with the highway gears. The 212/218 only tows good over 80mph.

They only other mod he has is a crapmaster cat back.
The 206/212 was awesome for towing and had the best gas milage. The power came right out of idle with stock converter. The 212/218 has a dead spot up to 1800 rpm with stock converter. Most of my driving and towing is done under 2000rpm.One important mod josh left out is we put 5.3 heads on the lq4 to bump up compression.

I'd go with a comp XFI cam myself....the lobes ramp up real fast, you get a lot of lift with short duration for low end.

i dought i could handle any more gear, i already cruse at 2300-2400 at 70- 72, remember it has a 4l80e. Cam someone explain why the smaller cam makes sooo much more torque, i don't think it is just in the less duration, is it an overlap thing?

I cant say on the Vinci cam but I had a 212 218 highlift in my 06 crewcab with the 5.3
All it had was the 212/218 cam,Wheatley tuned with 3.73 gears intake and exhaust,it still had the stock tq converter
I was shocked when it ran a 14.23 in the 1/4 with a 2.13 60ft.
I was not expecting that with those little mods
So I can say that cam does do well

I have the 212/218 in my 05 ecsb 4x4 w/6.0 and 5.3 heads. The cam has a great power band, just not where i can use it.The biggest difference was noticed in towing ,i had to be doing 80mph to obtain the (the Sweet spot)where the truck doesn,t keep downshifting when towing around 8,000lbs.When i was running the 206/212 the sweet spot was around 65 to 70.The 206/212 is a Lingefelter and it seemed to have power low and mid where the 212/218 had weak low ,great mid and built power to the rev limit.I also noticed the difference in fuel consumption it was around 50 miles to the tank less with the 212/218. I wouldn,t reccomend this cam for towing with stock gears like 3:42,s.When i,m towing i like to get good milage and be doing close to the speed limit.Soon as i get time i,ll be installing the 206/212 back in.
