I just hope my stall behavior is in the realm of OK and normal, i.e. not a problem.

I imagine when the radix goes on I would be able to stall higher in 4HI as long as the wheels didn't spin. I'm guessing they wont with 305/50-20's, but who knows?

HitmanX, whats your take on these torque converter traits I'm experiancing?

Am I in the "Everythings OK, just lucky category"? or the " I might want to get that checked out category"?

From what little I know and have learned about TC's, the numbers are based on certain vehicle weight, HP output, and TQ output. For example, the Yank TT2600 might reference a 2004 Extended Cab, Short Bed, 2WD, 5.3L-equipped, otherwise stock Silverado when establishing their numbers (don't know but possible). So we're looking at 295HP/330TQ @ 4563 lbs curb weight. The only vehicles in which the TT2600 will stall at 2600 RPM's are vehicles with those or similar characteristic.

Start playing with any of those three variables, and you will have deviation from that stall behavior. Same weight with same HP and less TQ (i.e. 4.8L)? Lower stall speed. Same weight with more HP/TQ? Higher stall speed. I think Ben over at the Silverado site had a Yank TT2600 that was stalling at 3000 RPM's or greater in his Radix-blown SS.

I agree moregrip that your converter stall behavior is nice...wish I had the same behavior in my truck!

i wrote mike at yank an email asking that exact question. he hasnt gotten back to me yet. i think i need to give him a call. im thinking about a radix (or sts turbo) and i dont want my yank truck thruster 2600 to jump to 3000+ rpm... i like it at 2600. is Ben with the radix SS on this site? id really like to talk to him about the TT2600's response to a radix

I have never tried to brake stall my truck, really don't see the need to. It does however, flash to right at 3000, with the Radix anyway. May change with the turbo going on.

so the off the shelf yank TT2600 + Radix will flash stall to 3000? if thats the case, it would be perfect

when you give it a little bit of gas in 4th and the converter unlocks, did you see 2600 rpms or 3000 rpms?

LOL

Actually that sounds okay, you have more heft and power to change the way stall behaves. I can get my stocker to flash to nearly 2000rpm. I bet a brake stall I could get into the lower 2000rpm area just fine.

I've heard other stuff about the 6.0/4L80E setup that can spin tires easily (from 1BADHD and Yelo) even with oversized ones.

That TT2600 HD could easily flash to 3000 with a Radix, input torque is the biggest factor in stall. Remember that's under WOT not cruise...
