Default Valve train noise

So my trucks been together for probably like 3000 miles now since the turbo install with the cam and everything and its my DD. Its got a Isky triple 12 (212/212 112 lsa .561 lift), comp chromoly 7.4 pushrods, summit ls2 timing chain and isky 165a springs. The rest of valve train is 115k miles original (lifters/trays, rockers).

I started noticing the other day its starting to sound louder than it used to be, it always was louder than stock obviously but it seems louder lately now that ive thought about it. It did just go on the dyno last sunday for the hell of it to see what it would make in 3rd but that wasnt any different from me beating it on the street it was only 3 pulls. Theres no knocking noise really, it sounds kinda like a solid lifter engine, I would know cause my dad has a 65 gto and 67 firebird. Its got bradd penn 5w30 in it with half a bottle a zinc additive for oil and next oil change I was gonna go to rotella t6 5w40 since thats made for turbos

So is there anything I can check beisdes pulling the cam to look at it or pulling the heads to look at the lifters? Ive heard of lifter preload but I never checked it or know how I just read that you run a 7.4 pushrod with the triple 12

Any help would be appreciated thank you

You can only get a glimpse of the cam from there... not enough to tell anything unless its a problem with one of the few lobes you can actually see.

Unfortunately if you think its a lifter problem the only solution is pulling the heads and replacing them.

You should have measured for pushrod size instead of guessing. And yes blindly following internet advice is still guessing.

However other sources of noise could also be an exhaust leak which is common with turbos.

The bradd penn oil is better than the rotella.

Yes i shouldve measured i do realize this now, i realize i shouldve done alot of things now....

I asked one of the guys at work whos been working on cars to mack trucks for like 30 years or whatever to listen to the truck and see if anything sounded off to him. He said nothing sounds like a bad noise or something is loose or has play. He did say owever like you said theres probably a small exhaust leak, which im gonna guess is on the driver side manifold/crossover connection. So that eases my mind some what at least

I was readin about other peoples lifter problems and some people have said if a lifter is soft its bad?
