Default Valve Springs

Where could I buy the tool to change the valve springs on a 4.8 eng, with the head on. I have seen different ones and would like to have one that would work well. Links? Sponsors? also camshaft tool

I recommend the Crane Cams valve spring tool for the LSx engines. I got mine from SDPC (Sponser here), Summit or such. Don't know what you mean by camshaft tool?

Camshaft tool- I believe your either talking about the camshaft handle installation tool that supports the cam on installation (or other words to me, 3 water pump bolts) or the Rods that Thunder racing and such sells to lock the lifters in place during a cam swap (which to me is two 5/16" wooden dowles with one sanded down a little more than the other)

to do the heads on the motor for the springs.
I used my compression gauge hose, it has a regular air hose connection to charge the cylinder with air to hold the valve in place, long ago i made a tool out of a flat pry bar to compress the spring down and remove the retainer clips, works great.
then it is just replace the spring, put on the retainer cap, press down set in the clips and let off.

What do you sand on the 5/16" dowel?

I will give them a call.

I was told that there is one that looks like the actual roller rocker, where could i get that one from?

As far as the cam tool, I was talking about the rod that holds the lifters in place when the cam is out.

I've not seen the "roller rocker" looking one you mention. The Crane unit is pricy but it rocks. Does both set of springs per bore. Now that I think about it I may have gotten it from Thunder Racing, another sponsor here. I went to Tractor supply and bought 2 , 3 foot long 5/16 diameter steel rods. Ground a small flat all along one side, cut to lenght of cam + about 5 inches and bent to make a handle. Worked great.

I would also like to know. Also, what is the general concensus on what the best valve spring tool is?
