Jegs sell some various coil covers ranging from polished aluminum to some edelbrocks that are black, aluminum or polished. Cheaper than valve covers and look kinda cool

is this what you're looking for, so you can run SBC valve covers on a LS?

No...I want a standard valve cover with coil mounting hard points, and then another mated cover that fits over that to cover the coils.

Would there be any issues with overheating the coilpacks by doing this? I always liked the looks of this but I would imagine it would get quite warm under there.

Never really thought about it. I guess its true, but not too concerned that it would cause a problem...besides, my underhood temps will be lower than most with my new hood. R/
