Default vacuum canister

where do i splice in a vacuum canister on my truck?
and could low vacuum cause my truck not to want to idle below 1000rpm. my tuner had to set my idle at 1000rpms cause my truck was surging as it slowed down. he also said my throttlebody was acting wacky. im going to get a new one and see if that will get it down a little. my tps is set at 10%

yes that sounds like a vacuum leak issue. make sure your brake booster line is connected properly. sounds like its not
