Vacum leak?
#1
The last couple of days my truck has been idleing rough. I have also noticed that when I am driving at PTO, there is a small whissle that has not been there before. There is no check engine lights on or anything, so could it be a vacum leak? I also noticed a change in my boost/vacum gauge. Normally at idle, it is at 21/vac, but since the rough idle, it is at 12/vac. Another question, would a vacum leak affect the tranny in any way? Because when I noticed that my tranny felt like it was slipping, I also noticed the rough idle the same day. Thanks for the help in advance, Kent.

You might be on to something. Check all of your clamps around the whipple for a good fit. Also, pull off your engine cover, and check all of the hoses for a tight fit on your intake manifold.

I ended up taking my truck to the place where they installed my Whipple. They found that my intake slipped off of the throttle body and was half on. That what was causing the rough idle, SES light, and my tranny problems. I felt like a idiot when I saw that was the problem, I did not even notice that. Oh well. At least I do not have to pay for a tranny rebuild, which makes me happy and keeps money in my pocket. Kent.
