Default Upgrades to 4L80? transgo, servos, clutch plates?

Now that I am more than likely going with the 4L80 swap next week with either Nelson Performance or Century (Houston).

What should I have done to it before it goes in, if anything?

What upgraded internals would you all would recommend?
Or would it be okay stock with just a shift kit for a good while with 500hp at the flywheel?

Stock these transmissions can hold alot of power. I would just add a shift kit for now.

You will need the harness and a trans tune from www.speartech.com

No, I don't mind.
Mike quoted me I think he said $550 or so to put it in. Not sure if he was over shooting to be safe or not...he told me everything he was gonna do and it sounded just like Parish's write-up, except this will be a 2wd with no auto-track or anything like that.

I am providing the tranny which cost $1050 shipped with 6 month warranty (parts & labor) with 39K miles on it.

I will definitely make a post about the setup when complete.

I think the entire motor and transmission swap with extra mods along the way will be running me almost the price of a supercharger. Incredible, isn't it?
I'm thinking about $6,000 when everything is said and done.

Then next year will come a supercharger plus 6.0 rebuild with bore and forged internals...it never stops!

Seth at cmotorsports told me he has seen stock 4l80e's with just a shift kit holding up behind a 700rwhp impala.

i also told him i would be buying a 409 or building the tranny next depending on what gives once i crank the boost on the 6.0, he seems prety confident that the tranny will be ok.

before i was afraid to spray out of the hole i was seeing gtech's well into the 11's with the tranny showing no problems at all, i know this truck is a little less weight than my last truck but to me it seems if i can run a mid 11 at the track then that will put the strength of a prety much stock 4l80e right there with a high dollar built 4l60e, if i can get a low 11 then that would sugest that it is actualy stronger.

I went to their website and found nothing on this harness & the programming for it.
Allen said he could program it himself there at his shop....does anyone know how much it is for just the harness alone?

I sent Speartech an email as well but have read about long response times. Do you think they could ship me a harness relatively QUICK?

Thanks,
-Brandon

Oh yeah, I am going to ask Allen/Mike to take many pics throughout the process and maybe write up as they go everything needed and involved in this swap. I hope they go for it! I am going to offer the camera as well. We'll see
