Default Upgraded aftermarket power steering pumps? See Pics

2001 GMC 2500 HD Ext Cab, 4WD

I just snapped the original OEM pulley shaft in the power steering pump while at full lock, (to the left), last Sunday. Tuesday, I put in a remanufactured pump from Napa. The manufacturer is ATSCO. I installed properly, bled well, thoroughly inspected, no leaks. Wed morning, while leaving a parking lot, I had to turn to the right at full lock very briefly. Seconds later, power steering went and no brakes. Second pump went south.
I just installed the second remanufactured pump from Napa again, (ATSCO).
I have two snapped pulley shafts sitting on my bench. See attached pictures.
Is there an aftermarket power steering pump that has a bigger/better/stronger pulley shaft?

Any help greatly appreciated.

i had the same exact thing happen to my '99 Sierra. The break was so clean it looked like it was machined that way. I took it to the dealer and they ate the cost of the pump and i had to pay for labor (truck had 45K) so it wasn't the worst. From what i was told at that time their wasn't another company making a variable assist power steering pump for our trucks.

A company called 'Turn One' makes ps pumps for the ASA cars and I know a lot of F car guys use them so they don't blow them up. Also the Vette pumps are a tad better. However I don't know if they are interchangeble with whats on the trucks.
