Default Update on STS problem

My last and best guess was a bad cat. Took the y-pipe off today. The drivers side cat was messed up pretty bad. I went ahead and gutted both of them. What a pain in the a**. Also turned off the rear O2s. Truck feels like it is 2-3 tenths faster. Guessing from the sotp meter. I was hoping the gutted cat would help the lag, but it did;nt It is alot louder also. Definately gonna have to get a muffler on it now.

Glad you got everything figured out..Do you think that the turbo had anything to do with clogging the cats?

Dave is gonna pick up with tune and traction. Last time at the track, I didnt want to lean him out any even though I knew he was way rich because his wideband isnt installed yet. Once we get that in, we can get his tune right. Dave drives this truck everyday and I didnt want to take any chances with the stock pistons. He has a lot coming up to install...wideband...intercooler...forged motor...more boost so we can afford to be a little patient on his stock motor. Once she is done....she is gonna ROLL!!!! I do think the turb helped kill the cat. Like I said, it appears to be rich and then he is dumping alky on top of that for safety. He don't need no stinking cats anyway
