Well, I stopped by the local "tuner" shop here in town to check on a cam swap for the Sierra. They do mostly import stuff but the main mechanic there is building a Merlin-powered 454SS pickup. Anyway, they quoted me $946 to change out the cam. Ugh.
I was thinking about going with a N2O kit instead...any suggestions as to brand? I definitely want a wet setup. Didn't know what kits people were using and which ones had the best results.
Thanks!

$946 for a cam swap...on your truck?
I guess he has no idea how different the cam swap is for the GenIII based motors are. He is probably under the impression the intake and maybe even the heads have to come off...You're better off taking this to another "tuner." The cam swap should cost no more $500 and in some places less than $400 (not including cam)
As far as N2O goes ... stick to the proven names like NOS, NX, Nitrous Works, TNT, etc and you should be fine. If you have any specific tuning questions let me know.

Yeah, that's what they said. They've got a snowball's chance in a hot place
Thanks for the info Richard. I just found an Indigo Blue '02 5.3 here in town. They have a $2500 rebate on the trucks right now. And everything that I've done to my truck could just be swapped over to the new one. Hmmm.....
