Default UPD vs. FIPK...which is best?

Which intake is better? Ive heard alot of good things about the UPD and the K&N FIPK, but I dont know which one to buy. Will the intakes really help on hp and on which one will I notice more gains. Anyone had experiece with them? How much gains will I notice on the butt-meter? Any help will help.

I'll give my standard answer. Two different dynos two months apart, the UPD (2nd dyno) being higher outside temp (so it could have been even better). No other mods between dyno's. This was strictly an intake change only.

K&N FIPK...255rwhp / 261rwtq

UPD...261 rwhp / 270rwtq

oh no, don't start that debate again. both intakes are good. you will get a SOTP difference from both intakes. greg (fast4.8) got 6 more horses from the UPD than he did from the K&N. IMO you can't go wrong with either one.

How come every "new" or "low post" member asks the same questions over and over again. We still have the search engine don't we???

Maybe that should be a sticky on top..."How to use the search engine."

Not flaming them, it's just that every post with redundant questions could be debated over and over again till it's locked. That's a waste for this board. It really comes down to opinion. I have the K&N.

And my opinion is that they both give very close to the same hp. I won't go into the dyno thing b/c they were 2 months apart...weather (not just temp) plays a big part, gas quality, etc....too much to debate over 6hp a month apart. Between two tanks of gas I could pick up 6hp.

Actually the search feature is a little futz up right now so.. Do a search on "UPD" and you'll see 2 topics, both from today.

Get on PSJ to get that sucker fixed.

I thought John fixed that last night. He had the board down for a while. Oh well he is a busy man and I am sure he will get it fixed soon.
