UPD L31 air intake is here!!!!

Finally a better priced box for us L31 guys.

I'll put it on tomorrow and let you know how the truck feels... I'll take some pics too.

Pre 99 truck, 00 SUV LS1 based engine. TBI style is what he is talking about.

L31 = 96-99 5.7 Iron block based motor for GM... My 99 Tahoe is rated at 280hp and 330tq...

New air induction looks great and I can feel an increase in power! Truck feels like I put more gear in it so that's making me think that the torque is much improved.

I have a buddy with a 00 Silv who I have to race now and that way I can see if I am faster last time I raced him I was even...

99 Tahoe 2wd
Dynomax catback
new plugs
UPD airbox and filter
16.3 bonestock perhaps mid 15's now?

did I just hear you say UPD came out with an intake for pre '99 trucks? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

A friend of mine with a '96 sierra wants a UPD...didn't know they were available. Last time I looked on the site I couldn't find a model for his truck!?

Yeah they have a box for the 96-99 L31/5.7 Vortec motors now.

I am making more power throughout the powerband, I am really pleased. I couldn't find any other trucks that would race me but maybe I'll run into some ricers today and bug them a little bit... I find that most of those guys pull on me a little bit or we are even...

I think I am gonna look for a used HPP3 now, I wonder if I could do low 15's/high 14's with a stock converter.

I raced my buddy with the 00 Silv 4x4 from a roll yesterday and it looks like I was pulling away a bit, maybe 1-2 lengths...

I'm gonna change the plugs and probably run the truck at the track again just to see how it's doing...
