Default UPD intake

i'm new to ls1 tech and i have a question.

i ordered the upd this morning and it should arrive next week and i was wondering what type of gains should i expect from it? has anyone owned both the KN and the upd? which is better? any info would be very helpful.

Oh, and is the GMS mass air sensor worth the $?

Thanx

i had a custom k&n cold air kit and i didn't think it made any power really, but it did have an aggressive sucking sound under hard driving, but the UPD on the other hand i feel some more power, as well as throttle response, i do have one question for anyone else who responds to this, my UPD is causing my MAF to touch the hood, it doesn't really make that big of a mark on the hood, but it is clear that it is touching, is there anything to worry about here? i doubt it, but rather safe than sorry.

Matt

Mat, rotate the maf so the big square bulge with the harness is facing the firewall.

there have been many debates over UPD vs. K&N. i love my UPD, but IMO they're both good. only reason i got the UPD is cuz it was cheaper.

6hp though....i mean how much of a difference is 6hp gunna make? i know the old "every little bit..." but 6 hp aint a whole lot.

and descreening the stock MAF prolly won't give as much power as the GMS. theres a chance you could break something too when you descreen it. but descreening doesn't cost a dime, whereas the GMS is $$$$$$

i dunno bout anyone else, but i like to play in the mud, and there is no way in hell my screen will come off my maf, that's like the last line of defense before something goes into the motor...

I ordered the UPD as well, looking forward to see it's gains...

I heard good things about the UPD. I'm kinda curious though... When you get the actuall UPD setup do you just get the enduction tubing or do they set you up with a filter as well and if so what type of filter.
