UPD
When installing an Upd are there any modifications that can be done to the factory box to get more cool air to the new system? It seems like this area picks up alot of heat from the engine.

Yep, you can do a ram-air set up. You can cut a 4" hole in the bottom of the air box and mounting plate and run a 4" flex duct (dryer hose will work, I got some black nylon flex duct from PepBoys) down to the bumper. I mounted a scoop in the hole next to the passenger side fog light. For the scoop I used a 5x10" rectangular A/C vent that's used in homes, it has a 4" round connection on the back (got mine at Home Depot). I had to cut it at about a 45* angle to get it to line up with the angle of the lower gray airdam below the bumper. I have it wedged between the airdam and the truck frame that's above the hole, I used and ran a velcro strap around the frame to hold it all in place. I've run my truck with the stock air box and the ram-air I made, the ram-air air DEFINITLY helps.

Great idea, Y2K Silverado!! If I have a weekend day to burn, I may try doing that. I think even with the UPD intake, the incoming air is inhibited because of the stock airbox. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />
