Default Twisted flywheel/need Aftermarket

Does anyone know if anyone sells aftermarket flywheels that are better quality. Last night i think i twisted mine in two. I took off from a light and the next think i knew my rpms ski rocketed. So i coasted to a stop "in gear i might add" with no brake. I could rev it up, but -no go-.

I then shut it off and tried to start it up after a little while. As soon as i hit the starter it just kept spining without turning the motor over. So my conclusion is that my flywheel is comming out today in pieces.

On my 2002 Yukon I had the same thing happen. I had installed a LS1 350 with H/C ect.. I replaced it with a stock flywheel. I reused the bolts perhaps that contributed to the problem. Others have been running more HP without any problems...

My last motor also had more hp with the blower. But it didnt hook like it does now. I put a cell in the rear and did a four link setup. It hooks really good. I just took a look at it and right where the two inch dia. holes are on the flywheel it sheared across the bridges. The bolts are fine on the converter. It just twisted the flywheel in half. Maybe you guys have a bigger flywheel from the factory.Do you know if the ls1's have a stronger flywheel?

Same thing happened to me a month ago, my flywheel broke around the bolts that hold it on to the crankshaft. I'm pretty sure the reason it broke was because I had installed a Transgo shift kit set for firm shifts, and also had my Hypertech set for firm shifts, thats not good when towing 10,000 pounds of trailer. There were several parts that got damaged b/c of the broken flywheel, the transmission pump was damaged and also some needle bearings fell out of the torque converter. I ended up putting back a stock flywheel to get it going again.

I have to find something stronger. This is the smallest amount of hp i am going to put to it. As soon as i get all my new stuff, plus tune it. I plan on running at least a 150 shot. With all that combined at the track with slicks i think she's going to twist in 30 pieces if i dont find something stronger.

ya, it was a 6.0. Then it was machined thirty over with a 4 inch stroker crank for lunati.
