Turbocharger-any new news?

Actually the STS system seems to be one of the best setups ive ever seen. Being that it is outside the truck, the turbo stays cooler, you still maintain every bit of back pressure sense you don't have to mount it on the header, which means almost no turbo lag. The only bad thing about it is that is outside and thats because someone could steel it!!!! But thats nothing a mini wireless camera wont fix

You actually want the turbo CLOSE to the headers. The momentum of the exhaust gasses spool the turbo. The further you get from the headers the cooler the gasses will get and the slower they will travel and hence less momentum. Too close an it might be pulsing but thats only it is practically on the head.
Also the fact that the turbo is exposed to the elements is a bad thing. Turbos don’t mind being hot (to a point) but they will mind being glowing hot and cooling off instantly due to some snow/rain/puddle ect.
Also I’m not a fan of having it anywhere near fuel or fuel lines; I don’t know if its routed near there.

I dont know about you but my exhuast temp prolly only really drops about 12* by the time its to the tail pipe and by that time i also have a greater volume of gas especially with 3" piping

LOL
I like listening to Trey bad mouth something he really doesn't have much experience with.
Change the A/R to work with a cooler gas temp and the turbo will work like it's supposed to since you still have the same amount of air passsing through the turbo.
The turbo sits where the stock muffler used to. AWAY from everything that it could melt. But you could always put it in the engine bay where there are tons of electronics that were never designed to have a turbo near them
