Default Turbo or Supercharger?

I was considering buying a new diesel truck but I'm also interested in getting some of ya'lls opinions on adding a turbo or a supercharger to my truck which has the 6.0l. I use my truck for daily driving but I also do alot of towing. If I add a turbo/supercharger, It has to maintain driveability and reliability for towing. I know superchargers draw power at low rpm but the power is instant. On the other hand, a turbo is basically free horsepower but you have the lag until it spools up. Any input or suggestions will be appreciated.

This topic has been covered SEVERAL times and you will get a TON of different opinions.

If you drive daily and tow allot, I am going to suggest a supercharger. You will loose absolutely no drivability or reliability with a supercharger. As for a turbo being free HP, there is no such thing as free HP. Turbo's suffer from parasitic losses just like a supercharger does

Just sold my Whipplecharged 6.0L and bought a diesel. From a reliability standpoint the diesel should be less work. I loved the power of the s/c but the milage sucked(10mpg) and it was tearing the truck up. So far the diesel is kicking butt. 15 plus mpg and it tows like a dream. Doesn't quite have the "off the line" punch the s/c did but once the turbo spools ....hang on... and I haven't even started modifying it yet. Just my $.02.

What is the MPG of the 6.0L vs. the diesel?
